"Pizza Quicks"

After a long morning of working in the mission office,
I asked the elders what they would most like for lunch.
Elder Thornock said that the thing he missed more than anything else
were the little homemade pizza's his mom makes for him at home
called (you guessed it) "pizza quicks."
So after I gathered the required ingredients,
he actually made them for us.
Yummmmmm!
Nothing like a little taste of home, right Elder Thornock?

First Day in the Field

We took our six new missionaries to the Trail Center,
then to the Kainsville Tabernacle as part of their
Nebraska orientation.
Above you see Elder Cheney playing the olds Kanesville organ,
very well, I might add.

Left to right is Elder Cremeens, Elder St. Clair, Sister Ray,
Sister Lawlor, Elder Cheney and Elder Jones.
They are exceptional young people, eager to get to work,
and we are so pleased to welcome them
to the greatest mission is the world!

Trail Center Run!

It's that time again.
With the arrival of warm weather we started up the Trail Center Race.
It's a three and one half mile run around the Winter Quarters Temple
and Trail Center that starts at 6:30 a.m.
on the last preparation day of the transfer.
Everyone was a little out of practice but many participated.
The Asssistants, Elder Gann and Elder Thornock took
first and second and Sister Gringrich took third!

The rest of us were just glad we finished.
Congratulations to a great group of missionaries!

Happy Mother's Day to my sweet mother
and to mothers everywhere.
Thank you for all you do
and continue to do,
for the children in your lives.

Sister Brewster

Some women are so exceptional
that all who know them
want to be just like them.
Sister Brewster is one of those ladies.
She has a quiet dignity,
a powerful sense of faithfulness and loyality,
and a boundless love for those under her care.
Sister Brewster is another one of my heros.
Happy Birthday to an elegant lady!

RM's!

Three accomplished, amazing, adorable and absolutely awesome
recently returned Sister Missionaries came to visit us this weekend.
From l to r: Sister Fairbanks, (me), Sister Chatfield
and Sister Maxfield. They have all made the adjustment
to civilian life and are doing very well.
It honestly felt like family coming home.
We love them so much.
It was a short visit and it was hard to let them go,
but they will forever hold a part of our hearts and hopefully
we can be a part of their lives for a long, long time.

P.S. RM stands for Return Missionary,
meaning they have served for 18 months as full time missionaries for the Lord.

Track

Here is Matt in action. He tied this race

and won this one by a mile. Go Matt!

Cross Country Drive

After a good meal with the Missionaries at Zone Conference, Scott and Daniel headed out to Cheyenne WY , the first leg of their trip, then on to Utah to visit David, Hailey and Kiely and then up to Brigham Young University, Idaho. They made it without any trouble at all, and I didn't worry about them one bit....(well...). We miss them already!

Sustaining a Prophet

Every six months, in a world wide General Conference,
we have the privilege of sustaining the prophet of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
These lovely Sister Missionaries are in the Kanesville Tabernacle
where Brigham Young was sustained as the prophet 163 years ago.
December 27, 1847 over 1,000 saints gathered into the tabernacle
to be a part of this historical occasion
where for the fist time since the restoration of the church
the members sustained a new First Presidency.

What a remarkable message we bring to the world:
There is a Prophet of God on the Earth today!
To one and all we say:
Come listen to a Prophet's voice
and hear the word of God!
