Post Mission
Today is the 10th of August and my last blog was in Nebraska shortly before the end of our mission. A million things have happened since then and I hope to catch up to our release date the 29th of June and a little beyond. We left the mission in the very capable hands of President and Sister Weston. They are wonderful people and bring many talents and strengths to the work. We have been to Utah and back twice and been to our home in Pennsylvania for two weeks also. The mission is beginning to feel like a dream, but one that left us with countless memories that will live with us forever. We thank you all for your love and support. The mission was the adventure of a lifetime and we will never be the same. So join me as I attempt to capture the last month or so and bring this chapter of our lives to a close. Though the mission is over we have the gift of countless relationships with dear missionaries that we hope will last forever. So, here's to new chapters and different seasons of our lives...
Baseball Game
The Triple A Storm Chasers Baseball team held a 'Mormon Night'
and asked some of our missionaries to sing the National Anthem.
Of course they were thrilled and did a beautiful job.
Afterwards they ran a booth with literature to hand out to interested fans.
Lucky guys got to stay afterwards to watch the game.
Lauritzen Garden
We have a bucket list of things
we want to do before we leave Nebraska;
places we have heard about but just haven't had time to visit.
This was one of those places and it was so worth the trip.
I took tons of pictures so please join us
as I take you on a tour of the lovely
Lauritzen Botanical Gardens
Side note:
That's Milan asleep on the bench back there.
"Just a quick cat-nap".
Often Milan takes me places that he knows I will love
but doesn't really have that much interest in himself...
although he would never admit it.
He puts up with it as long as he can
and then has to gear himself back up to make it through to the end.
Museums are another one of those places.
What an incredibly sweet husband!
Back to the garden...
Not far from the Garden
is the Union Pacific Railroad Monument
that you pass on Highway 80
entering Nebraska from Iowa.
That's my boy!
