Temple Kitty

He seems to always be here when we come.
He's sweet and loving but very skinny.
The missionaries love him.
President Kunz named him, Solomon.
I wish I could take him home with me.

Carry's Surprise

My dear friend, Carry and her husband Chris
just celebrated their 15th anniversary.
Chris surprised her with a trip to Navuoo.
He made all the reservations,
cancelled all her appointments,
made plans for the kids,
packed her clothes
and whisked her away.

We were in on the plan
and in order to get pictures of the surprise
they stopped at our house
so that Carry and I could "do a little planning."
Thats when Chris
presented her with their itinerary.
She was very surprised!!!

Here are the rest of the conspirators.
Of all the people who knew the secret
it was only Chris who almost let it slip

Pioneers Past and Present

The Trail Center sisters created and performed
a beautiful tribute to the pioneers.
Originally it was going to be in the park just below the Trail Center
but because of rain it was moved indoors
which actually worked out even better.
The acoustics were great,
we had plenty of outlets,
we had the Walter Rane pictures all around us,
and everyone stayed around afterwards to talk and take tours.
The Sisters did an incredible job and we were so proud of them.
We just can't get over the remarkably talented young women
we have in this mission.

The first song was written and composed by one of the sisters
and sung by three others, each telling the story of different pioneers
and why they joined the church and moved west.
They told of the hardships endured
and the great sacrifices made.
It was lovely.

There were lots of fun songs that made you want
to tap your feet and sing along.

We saw a side of the sisters we had never seen before,
each of them enthusiastically enjoying their music.

There were very tender hymns sung in perfect harmony.

It turned out to be an amazing program which they plan on performing
many more times in the future
to remind people of the wonderful heritage we have
not only as members of the church
but also in this area of the country.
Thanks Sisters, you are amazing!

April Arrivals

Only four missionaries arrived in April.
It might be a small group
but as usual they are wonderful young men,
prepared and ready to serve the Lord.
Welcome to NOM,
the best mission in the church!

Laura's Visit

One of my dear friends came to visit me for a few days
and we had such a lovely time.
We saw as many things as we could fit into
the short time she was here.

We visited the Kanesville Tabernacle,

and the Winter Quarters Temple,

in all its spring-time splendor.

Later we visited the Mormon Trail Center

where she was given a tour by one of our wonderful sisters.

She met Star and Bright,

enjoyed the spirit of the Memorial Room,

and learned how big and colorful the wagons were.

Another day we went into Omaha where we visited
 the Pioneer Courage Memorial

which spreads through several blocks of the city

and ends with a lovely geese fountain and atrium.

Our last stop was a great little restaurant called Wheat Fields
where we had the most incredible breakfast
and afterwards enjoyed a long girlfriend talk.
It was such a treat to have her here with me,
and so fun to catch up and chat.
Thank you, Laura,
your visit was a delightful break
 and I loved every minute!

Another Blessing...

Our new grand-baby is here!
He was born on May 5th,
at 11:02 am
weighing in at 6 lbs, 9 ozs.
and measuring 18 inches long.

I took this picture off of skype
so it is not very clear
but he is the sweetest little boy.

Hailey came through it like a pro
and is already feeling good, but tired.
She is beautiful, happy and the sweetest of mothers
and we feel so blessed to have her in our family.
David is excited to have them all home with him.
He is a dear father, so attentive and involved.
We just couldn't be more thrilled!
The only thing that could make us happier
would be if we were there with them,
getting to hold that new little soul.

Welcome to the world little one!
Name announced tomorrow
along with more pictures.

Jocelyn Art Museum

My wonderful husband took me to the Jocelyn Art Museum
just because he knew I would LOVE it.
It was amazing and
 I absolutely loved every minute.
I took pictures of some of my favorite things.
Please join me in a feast for the senses...

What a lovely day!

Thank you, Honey,
you're so good to me!
