Holiday Date

One of our senior sisters

who has "connections"

was able to get tickets for the

Air Force Band Holiday Concert

put on by the Offutt Airforce Base.

It was the first real date that Milan and I 

have had in a long time and it was fabulous!

Several of the senior couples attended together.

We began the evening with dinner and then

headed to the Holland Performing Art Center.

We had great seats, right on the edge of a balcony,

and enjoyed every minute of it!

Making Christmas Cards

For the past two years

a very generous sister in my ward

has provided all the materials,

lovely patterns,

and hours of time in preparation,

to make it possible for some of our missionaries

to make and send handmade cards home to their families.

The following are pictures I took during the activity.

It was fun watching them work so intently,

especially the elders,

who took it SOOOOO seriously!

Perfection!

Selfless Service

Driving home from a meeting we came upon this sight:

two of our amazing elders

pushing a car off of an ice patch.

Apparently they had been walking

by when the truck became stuck,

so being the incredible young men that they are

they rushed out into the street 

and helped the driver 

out of his predicament.

We were so proud!

 We had the privilege of attending the baptism

of a young man that Milan and the missionaries 

found in downtown Omaha.

He is a student here from China

and he has embraced the gospel

with his whole heart.

He was taught by two great missionaries
who will always have a special place
in their hearts for him.

What a joy!

Catch-up

Yay!!!
I'm finally caught up thru November
and it is only the end of December.
I WILL
finish December this week
so that I can start the new year
right on schedule!

Goodbye

In early December we said goodbye

to our dear Elder and Sister Naylor.

They have been amazing in their

dedication and service.

Elder Naylor who is an expert genealogist

did a great deal of the work for most of our

young sisters, some of the elders,

all of the stake presidents in the area,

and for us also!

We were all given a beautiful notebook

with page after page of information he had researched

and then instructions of what do to

to keep the work progressing.

Adorable Sister Naylor

mothered all our sisters and took

amazing care of them,

from hearty homemade soups

to mending and helping them

when they were sick.

We will miss them terribly

but wish them so much happiness

with their family.

A Unique Thanksgiving Dinner

We were invited to spend Thanksgiving Dinner

with all our wonderful senior couples.

Everyone brought their favorite goodies

and we truly enjoyed a FEAST! 

The evening ended with some beautiful music

by a couple of our very talented sisters.
